As the Snowdrops come through in my garden this Christmas I'm still waiting for the last of the leaves to fall from two of the trees. Clearly this has been exceptionally warm Autumn but is this a one off, part of the normal difference between each year or are we starting to see the effects of global warming? This has got me thinking and so today I looked through my photos for a comparison. the two photos above were taken from more or less the same spot (The Strid in the Yorkshire Dales and at the same time of year in October (give or take about 4 days) however I took one in 2005 and the other one in 2006. Can you spot any differences or work out which is which and why? I'll let you draw your own conclusions as to whether this is evidence of global warming or not and I'll be interested to hear your views in the new term. Do you have any evidence about this Autumn being warm or even evidence that points the other way? If so leave a comment or bring it into school.
