Eco House

In year 7 we are designing our Eco Houses. What is always surprising is just how many things there are to think about. For example is it better to upgrade existing buildings or build new ones? Do we superinsulate and build underground or do we maximise the use of heat from the sun with south facing windows? Above is our local "Eco House" at Brocks Hill, but lets not forget the environmental features of our new school building. We have been looking at a number of other examples in class, you can view some of them again by following the links here. Also here are some past examples of work for this homework (can you do better?).

Hi this is Chris Smith, I am a student at Guthlaxton College (Going into the 6th Form) and my Brother is currently in year 9 (However will be moving up to Guthlaxton this year).

Just thought I'd post a message to see if I got any replies, especially from my favourite Geography Teacher (Mr. Batchelor - Sorry if that's spelt wrong)

Hi Chris always good to hear from former students, especially good geographers like yourself ;-). Sixth form eh, does geography feature in your A levels? Best wishes from,
Mr.B
